Chief whip of Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal Assembly, Shankar Ghosh, was suspended for the rest of the day for creating ruckus in the house during a discussion over 'atrocities' against Bengali migrants.
West Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee suspended four other Opposition MLAs, along with Ghosh, for raising slogans and creating a ruckus in the house while Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was about to speak on a resolution over 'atrocities' against Bengali migrants.

The BJP legislators created ruckus in the house questioning the suspension of Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari on September 2.
Assembly marshals dragged Ghosh out of the house after he refused to leave the premises. Besides Ghosh, BJP MLAs Agnimitra Paul, Mihir Goswami, Bankim Ghosh and Ashok Dinda were subsequently suspended.
The assembly was adjourned multiple times on Thursday as chaos prevailed in the house, as both the treasury and opposition benches started raising slogans.

The chief minister condemned the BJP MLAs for the "unparliamentary conduct". She charged that the Opposition was trying to derail a serious discussion concerning the rights and safety of Bengali migrants.
"The BJP doesn't want the truth to come out. They are obstructing the house to divert attention from the real issues," the chief minister charged.
Banerjee had to pause multiple times during her speech as the Opposition continued their sloganeering.
At one point, several Trinamool Congress members were seen moving towards the BJP benches, and Banerjee had to intervene. The BJP legislative party staged a walkout from the assembly after Banerjee's speech.
